Find Out Why the ‘Investigation’ Into RHONJ Star Luis Ruelas’ Company Isn’t a ‘Big Deal’

RHONJ's Teresa Giudice and Louie Ruelas

There’s a lot of chatter going around about a law firm’s investigation into Luis Ruelas‘ company, Digital Media Solutions, Inc., but we are here to break down why it’s not a “big deal,” according to one attorney.

Earlier this week, a press release from Busines Wire announced that the law firm Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP, which specializes in class action lawsuits, was investigating Luis Ruelas’ company.

“Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP (‘GPM’) announces its investigation of Digital Media Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: DMS) (f/k/a Leo Holdings Corp.) concerning the Company and its directors’ and officers’ possible violations of state laws,” the press release read.

The Bravoverse was in a tizzy after this press release made its way around social media. However, one lawyer, Allegra Rineer, who goes by Legally 40ish on Instagram, broke down the investigation and revealed why it’s “not” as big of a deal as some are making it out to be.

According to Legally 40ish, the “press release” was basically an advertisement to get information so they could potentially build a case against Luis’ company IF there is something to uncover. Basically, this is a fishing expedition – plain and simple. The law firm is also investigating tons of other businesses like Adidas, Tesla, and more.

Legally 40ish explains:

I’m seeing lots of chatter about this headline involving Luis Ruelas’ business, and here’s why I wanna tell you. It’s really not that big of a deal. So this law firm put out a press release regarding their investigation into Luis’ business. You’ll note that this is considered attorney advertising. Now, if you go to this firm’s website, you’ll notice that they are actually a class action law firm, and they investigate companies to attempt to get some information to build a case for a class action lawsuit. You’ll see here they’re investigating all kinds of businesses.

We’ve got Adidas, AllBirds, I believe, Teslas on here. So they’re investigating all of these companies to potentially be able to bring a class action lawsuit. Call me when the FTC gets involved, then I’ll be interested.

RHONJ airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.

Thoughts on this all? Sound off below!

The law firm Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP is investigating Digital Media Solutions, Inc. for possible violations of state laws. They specialize in class action lawsuits and are looking into various companies, including Luis Ruelas’ company, to gather information for potential class action lawsuits.

According to attorney Allegra Rineer, who goes by Legally 40ish on Instagram, the investigation is not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be. She explains that the press release from the law firm is essentially an advertisement to gather information and build a case if there is something to uncover. The law firm is also investigating other businesses like Adidas and Tesla, indicating that it is a common practice for them.

There is no need to be overly concerned about the investigation into Luis Ruelas’ company at this point. The investigation is being conducted by a law firm specializing in class action lawsuits, and it is a standard procedure for them to investigate various companies. Unless the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) gets involved, there is no immediate cause for alarm.

"Several people have sued the NJ-based businessman and his company, Digital Media Solutions, over allegedly illegal practices. Page Six obtained copies of at least three complaints filed throughout 2021 that accused Ruelas' digital advertising company of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)." I read the article and it has to do with basically scam calls. I'd sure as heck sue his company if I knew they were behind the ones I get daily! The article was dated March 2022 so it has the results of some of the lawsuits. This may have to do with what prompted the May 3 and May 4 allegations.

And Teresa knows nothing about this as she claimed she knew nothing about her fraud case. BRAVO has allowed her to go unchecked for years. She draws the audience. Andy Cohen mocks her and she sits there and takes it. Maybe she is much smarter than she portray. Never liked Luis, never trusted him.

She is smart to humiliate herself and let a television show exploit her stupidity, delusions of grandeur and nastiness for a lot of money. She got to do lots of things and make money on books, etc, that she wouldn't have otherwise. She is trashy and so no big deal to her. Due to her flaws, Luis is going to end up making her not so smart when it comes to money. Hopefully, bravo will dump her, too.

LOLOL!! Trying to put Luis's company in the same category as Adidas and Tesla! Somebody needs to investigate to find out if this site is owned and operated by Teresa Guidice.

I don’t like Luis, never have, he gives off… just, not so great vibes and some alarming narcissistic features, despite the façade that he keeps (poorly) and that some people seem to buy into. Including his wife. Regardless, I still like Teresa. She’s got a horrible picker, but, whatever, I’ll always be rooting for Teresa and her family/girls’ happiness. I kind of just pretend Luis isn’t there (I wasn’t crazy about Joe Giudice either, so… ????)

What's the source for the claim the investigation is no big deal? Some clown insta account called "Legally 40ish"?!!! That sounds real legit! Omg, the Treape superfans that run this site are so nsanely biased it needs to change it's name from AATRH, to I Love Treape.

This may have something to do with it....Digitial Media Solutions "received notice from the New York Stock Exchange (the "NYSE") on March 30, 2023, indicating that the Company is not in compliance with NYSE's continued listing standards because the average closing price of the Company's common stock was less than $1.00 over a consecutive 30 trading-day period". Is it a big deal? I don't know. Maybe Luis will be the fall guy if needed, if or even if he wasn't fired as he said he was.

This is a big deal! Digital Media Solutions faces delisting as NY law firm launches investigation The Clearwater company is being investigated by a class action law firm for violating state law while dealing with issues that could lead to it losing its place on the New York Stock Exchange. https://www.businessobserverfl.com/news/2023/may/06/digital-media-solution-faces-delisting-as-ny-law-firm-launches-investigation/

Oh it is a second notice/issue about something else. Not looking good for Luis' old company. So the stock he has probably isn't paying anything. Yet he convinced Teresa that he has so much more money than she does and announced it on TV.

Wow! The next day another one. I get the idea that he was demoted because he couldn't be fired but he said on WWHL he was fired. On their website it shows him co-founder and EVP (but not of anything. There are other EVP's in the company of something specific.) Or did he say that at the time because they tried to fire him? It is interesting because it was obvious to viewers (that pay attention) he had ulterior motives since before the day he arranged to meet Teresa. He had to know he was on thin ice with the company. Interesting.

I posted a link to page six that details some of the lawsuits filed against DMS and it was removed. I thought maybe it was because they don't want links. But I posted today just about one lawsuit in my own words and the post was removed. I think this site has a hard on for me. Is there a reward for that?

What? Some unknown random guy on Instagram says it isn't a big deal so this site creates an article titled, "Find Out Why the ‘Investigation’ Into RHONJ Star Luis Ruelas’ Company Isn’t a ‘Big Deal’". Where is the story? What about him saying on WWHL a year or so ago he was fired from the company? What about Andy grilling him on WWHL, 14 Feb 23, if he had a new job yet and him saying he "started a new business"? Yet everything he said indicated he was talking about the old business he co-founded with 3 others in 2012 so if not a lie it was certainly misleading by a decade! Was he fired or just demoted? If he is still active and receiving earned income then he lied when he said he was fired. That all should be part of the story. Luis is not exactly a likeable reality TV person so viewers are wondering. Someone mentioned and provided below a second notice against the company.

I’m done with this site. I can find another one thats not being paid off by Teresa. As if people aren’t going to notice that all articles are in her favor. Done

I agree with you. A good writer is impartial. This Lara Sophia is just a fan of Teresa.

What gets me is these heavy duty fans aren't going after Luis who is obviously in the process of doing Teresa wrong, sooner or later. I think she 100% deserves it, however. The fact is that I have read nothing about Teresa fans criticizing Luis! That makes me think they really aren't fans of Teresa because they like HER. They don't. They like her like a freak in a freak show and all the chaos she creates and how despicable she is towards others to cause drama in a TV show they like. It is the same way Andy likes her, IMO, because she is some self-centered dummy to exploit. Andy really dislikes Luis but he is ready to exploit him and the crumbling of Teresa's marriage to him.

What about when he was crying on social media saying RuLaLa was his idea and his business? Or something along those lines.. he’s a sketchy weirdo.
Que Sera May 8, 2023 - 3:16 pm
That was nutso. He keeps showing it (nutso side) on camera and how did he even think he could pull this off the way he wants it to go with his mental issues. Bravo has no problem exploiting him and continuing to exploit Teresa but how bad can he behave before it is too much. He isn't close to that yet but I see it coming if he is still on another season or two. I wonder how he'll react if the wedding special has terrible ratings and/or he gets in legal trouble regarding the job he said he was fired from.

Not one person with any sense thinks that the Luis situation will end well. The stories regarding his past if even a small fraction are true are not good.
Que Sera May 7, 2023 - 1:30 pm
I predicted he had ulterior motives from the beginning and it was just a guess as to when it would implode. However, he is way worse than I thought and I was thinking he was bad.

Ok, there is a law firm doing a fishing expedition against Luis firm for a civil case. If they find proof of laws broken and he gets a civil lawsuit it should absolutely be covered/reported. What I don’t understand, is the vigor for this firm fishing for info is blasted out but other cast members who have actual Lawsuits today ruled against them and their businesses for hundreds of thousands of dollars never make it in on air. Why is it last season when a cast member was being hauled into court for a fraud mortgage deal, why none of that made the show..or construction lawsuits or cars example being repossessed. Why are some cast members shielded and some breathe wrong and it is splashed all over Bravo.

This article I quoted below was in March 2022. It is all making even more sense now. For one thing, putting cash in an LLC that also happened to be his residence plus a girlfriend on reality TV was a smart move since he knew things were going down. He did that January 2021 and Teresa and the 4 daughters moved in and then she sold her house. "Several people have sued the NJ-based businessman and his company, Digital Media Solutions, over allegedly illegal practices. Page Six obtained copies of at least three complaints filed throughout 2021 that accused Ruelas' digital advertising company of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)." The funny thing is, these kind of violations are what many people have to deal with every day.
Jshappyday May 6, 2023 - 3:27 pm
I deducted the same thing. They are fishing, trying to see if there is anything there. Also, it applied to civil laws in one state, not criminal, and they have nothing at this point and are just starting their investigation. They are basically fishing for business. If you go to their web site, they do this with many other companies hoping to get consumers to complain about various companies to build a case. Boy, people lost it online as if this was a done case with convictions. That is about 1,000 steps down the line IF there is something there.

Someone hired the law firm. Probably the investor(s). Law firms are not going to investigate pro bono.
Que Sera May 7, 2023 - 1:05 pm
The company has now two notices that they aren't complying with the rules and if they don't fix the problems they'll be delisted from the NYSE. One of the things was selling stock for less than a dollar over 30 days. It doesn't sound like a good thing. But then again, according to Luis on WWHL last year he said the company fired him. So it may not matter if that was true but his stocks probably aren't worth much.

I find it really suspect that this came out after the reunion filmed. Feels retaliatory, without naming names!
Que Sera May 6, 2023 - 5:03 pm
Luis said he was fired from this company. How can a law firm putting out a press release on May 3 be even related to, let alone retaliatory toward some guy on reality TV?. Like anyone who has anything to do with it has heard of RHNJ let alone watch trash reality TV would know or care they were filming? That is outlandish to even imagine. Or did I misunderstand and you are saying the writer of this article could be retaliatory? ?
Ginger Snap May 7, 2023 - 3:37 pm
This was talked about over a year ago. If retaliatory, would have come out before the reunion.
