There’s a lot of chatter going around about a law firm’s investigation into Luis Ruelas‘ company, Digital Media Solutions, Inc., but we are here to break down why it’s not a “big deal,” according to one attorney.
Earlier this week, a press release from Busines Wire announced that the law firm Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP, which specializes in class action lawsuits, was investigating Luis Ruelas’ company.
“Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP (‘GPM’) announces its investigation of Digital Media Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: DMS) (f/k/a Leo Holdings Corp.) concerning the Company and its directors’ and officers’ possible violations of state laws,” the press release read.
The Bravoverse was in a tizzy after this press release made its way around social media. However, one lawyer, Allegra Rineer, who goes by Legally 40ish on Instagram, broke down the investigation and revealed why it’s “not” as big of a deal as some are making it out to be.
According to Legally 40ish, the “press release” was basically an advertisement to get information so they could potentially build a case against Luis’ company IF there is something to uncover. Basically, this is a fishing expedition – plain and simple. The law firm is also investigating tons of other businesses like Adidas, Tesla, and more.
Legally 40ish explains:
I’m seeing lots of chatter about this headline involving Luis Ruelas’ business, and here’s why I wanna tell you. It’s really not that big of a deal. So this law firm put out a press release regarding their investigation into Luis’ business. You’ll note that this is considered attorney advertising. Now, if you go to this firm’s website, you’ll notice that they are actually a class action law firm, and they investigate companies to attempt to get some information to build a case for a class action lawsuit. You’ll see here they’re investigating all kinds of businesses.
We’ve got Adidas, AllBirds, I believe, Teslas on here. So they’re investigating all of these companies to potentially be able to bring a class action lawsuit. Call me when the FTC gets involved, then I’ll be interested.
RHONJ airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.

The law firm Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP is investigating Digital Media Solutions, Inc. for possible violations of state laws. They specialize in class action lawsuits and are looking into various companies, including Luis Ruelas’ company, to gather information for potential class action lawsuits.
According to attorney Allegra Rineer, who goes by Legally 40ish on Instagram, the investigation is not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be. She explains that the press release from the law firm is essentially an advertisement to gather information and build a case if there is something to uncover. The law firm is also investigating other businesses like Adidas and Tesla, indicating that it is a common practice for them.
There is no need to be overly concerned about the investigation into Luis Ruelas’ company at this point. The investigation is being conducted by a law firm specializing in class action lawsuits, and it is a standard procedure for them to investigate various companies. Unless the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) gets involved, there is no immediate cause for alarm.
