Sometimes gems are served up to producers on a silver platter, while other times, they have to do a little digging to discover a diamond in the rough. That was the case with [Lenny Hochstein's hot mic moment](https://allabouttrh.com/2022/12/22/lenny-hochstein-claims-hot-mic-moment-was-edited-to-make-him-look-bad-and-make-lisa-look-like-an-innocent-victim/) during season 5 of the *Real Housewives of Miami*. This is why veteran Housewives producer, Lauren Kaylor, was surprised when she uncovered Lenny's rant. *“You just never know what’s there, and you don’t always know what’s happening at these parties until you get back into the edit bay, and you can really dissect and get into it,”* Kathleen French, the Senior Vice President of Production told Page Six Monday at the 2023 Realscreen Summit in Austin, Tx. French reveals that it took Kaylor *“hours and hours and hours”* to track down Lenny's whispered mic moment. She continued, *“There’s a certain style of producer. And I call them ‘part ferret’ because they just get in there and they listen. They’re looking for things, and they just have an intuitive sense of what’s happened. It’s really what makes ‘Housewives’ ‘Housewives.’”* Season 5 of the *Real Housewives of Miami* is currently airing on Peacock, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. ## Thoughts on this all?
