Candiace Dillard Basset Claps Back After Gizelle Bryant Insists Chris Bassett Rides Her Coattails; Says Gizelle ‘Wouldn’t Recognize A Supportive Husband If It Smacked Her In Her Face’

Candiace Dillard-Basset is clapping after Gizelle Bryant insists that her husband Chris Bassett rides her coattails.

On Sunday’s episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle quipped that Chris is riding Candiace’s coattails.

She later double-downed on her claims on the RHOP After Show.

“She sings, she wants to act, she’s has a personality that’s out of this world. I want her to be as successful as possible,” Gizelle said. “So when I see her husband, that by trade is a chef, all of a sudden not be cheffing anymore and decides to be a manager, it just…I don’t know…gave me little yellow flags…spidey senses went up a bit.”

Candiace clapped back in her own After Show interview, saying, “I mean, Wendy said it. Of course, you wouldn’t recognize a supportive husband if it smacked you in your face, girl.”

She continued, “So when I hear this woman say to me that my husband, who would do anything to make me happy, would do anything so that my career and my dreams a reality, I don’t know an example of him supporting her in the way that my husband has supported me.”

Candiace then noted that she almost “can’t even be upset” with Gizelle for the dig.

“You are only responding to my experience as a product of your environment and as a product of what you have been through and what you still go through,” she added.
