The Valley‘s Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s sex life was drier than the desert in Palm Springs in the year leading up to their recent split.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Valley, Jax Taylor 44, and Brittany Cartwright, 35, opened up about a lack of sex life in months leading up their January separation.

“When Jax and I first met, it was awesome. We were having sex all the time, 24/7, and I mean, we didn’t miss a day,” Brittany said in her confessional interview. “And then, it has just changed dramatically. I’m talking twice in the past year.”

Brittany admitted that she hoped Jax would take her out for a date night since her mom was in town to help care for their two year old son, Cruz.

“Where’s my romantic night that you’re supposed to be planning for me?” Brittany asked.

Jax dodged any ownership and instead placed the blame on the opening of Jax’s Studio City bar.

“I didn’t realize this bar was going to take up a lot of my time,” he said. “I should’ve known that. There’s just a lot going on right now.”

While Brittany acknowledged that becoming parents changes the dynamic of a marriage, the 34-year-old noted that she and Jax still needed to make time for their romantic relationship to flourish.

“Just put the kid first for so long, he’s always going to come first, let’s be real but…” she said.

Elsewhere in Tuesday’s episode of The Valley, Jax along with his co-stars Danny Booko and Jesse Lally took their kids to the country fair.

During the outing Jesse told Jax couples therapy with his wife, Michelle Lally, had been going “bad” which is when the Vanderpump Rules OG opened up about his own marital woes.

“I feel like we got to schedule it…” Jax said of sex with Brittany. He added that he used to want  sex “three, four times a day all day, every day, and now it’s like, did we do it this month?”

The 44-year-old then owned up to the role in played in his sex life with Brittany going stale.

“The romantic spark is just not there right now,” he said in a confessional. “I will take blame, yeah, I let that spark fizzle. It’s just not fair to either one of us. Especially, it’s not fair to my wife because she deserves to have a man be loving for her.”

However he hoped they could work on resolving the lack of romance and intimacy in their marriage.

“It has been a little bit of an issue because, you know, your sex life and your marriage kind of take a back seat when you have a child,” Jax said. “It’s a big deal and I don’t want it to become a bigger deal.”

On February 29, Brittany Cartwright announced that she and Jax were “taking time apart.” The Vanderpump Rules alum announced the news on her and Jax’s podcast, When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.

Jax and Brittany met in 2015 at the Gold Spike Lounge in Las Vegas. The Kentucky native quickly moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax and first appeared on season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. By 2016, Brittany had landed a job at SUR and became an official VPR cast member

After some ups and downs in their relationship, Jax proposed in June 2018, and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later, in 2019.

They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.

The Valley airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.
